    And the "Shamrocks" hearts were gay.
    The people cheered for the dark and green.
    As they marched out to the fray.

    Golden shamrocks for their crest.
    They are watched with interest keen
    And the heart that beats within each breast.
    Loves the little shamrocks green.

    Yes they loved that dear little emerald leaf.
    More than scented flower knots
    So on their breasts in bold relief.
    They wear the gold shamrocks.

    When the ball in thrown in what a rush they make
    Smarter lads you never have seen.
    These boys you know, make no mistake
    Who are dressed in the dark and green.

    Those men you will see ere the play is done,
    Can fight like bold game cocks.
    No Rathskeagh boy the ball will shun.
    They are St Patrick's bold 'Shamrocks'.
