  1. Previous to 1547, a priory had been founded () to which a hospital was attached. When the Reformation was introduced into the country these monks refused to waver in their allegiance to the Italy See - they were impoverished, robbed, hunted, banished and put to death. So universal was the ruin of their Order that all traces of it have disappeared.
