  1. Sung while playing the "cobbler and the tinker" at a wake.
You sing 'cob' and you sing 'lay'
You take ten and you take thray
    The cobblers and the tinker
Merry be the first and merry be the last
With the cobbler and the tinker.
    Also
    Humpty dumpty thrump the thray
The cow was sold the market day
    Has many horns stands up.
" In the cobbler game played at a wake long ago one person knelt down, covered his face with another person's knees.
The leader came & pounding his (the kneelers ) back with his fists recited that rhyme and at the end stuck up (say) four fingers. If the person kneeling was unable to guess accurately the number the formula was gone through again for three times.
