- St. Fechin came from the north of Ireland to Fore and as he journeyed along he was very tired so he sat down to rest, and each place he rested there was a cross erected. When he reached Fore he built a mill in a place in which there was no water to turn it. When he had it built he went with his men to Lough Lene and as they were coming home they chanted sacred music and a stream burst out from the Lough and followed the Saint back to the mill and turned the mill.
