    Its off to the barrack this minute I'll run,
    I'll have them locked up as sure as a gun."
    This old poet died in Kells and was buried in Staholmog graveyard in the year 1870.
    In later years there lived a man in Kilbeg named Walker. He composed all his songs on local matters. In one of those he wrote about a man who was getting married
    "My garden bedecked with flowers fairest,
    And fruit the rarest that land can grow.
    I'll have peas and praties and fine tomatoes,
    And all as neat as a halfpenny show."
    This man died about 1906 and was buried in Newtown Graveyard.
