  1. I made inquiries about hedge-schools but no one seems to know anything about them. Perhaps it would be what people in this district call "night" school.
    About seventy years ago there was a small farmer, named Jamsey Reilly, who taught lessons not to children but to grown up boys, who did not go to school earlier.
    He taught them to read and write. He was only paid the small sum of a few pence per lesson by
