  1. 1. In the olden times there were not many shops and the few that were they were very small.
    2. There used be goods sold and bought near the church long ago.
    3. Money used not be plentiful long ago so the people used exchange goods for goods or exchange a days labour for goods.
    4. The people used be loth to buy or sell anything on a Sunday.
    5. Eggs, fowls butter and rabbits used be given in exchange for goods.
    6. According to the people if anyone struck another person with an elder stick the person who dealt the blow would have seven years bad luck.
