  1. There once lived an old pensioner in Drogheda, who every Friday used to do the shopping for his wife. He used get the tea and sugar in Connell's and the bacon and rashers in Magee's in west West St. According as he used buy them he used write them down. At the end of the list he used always write Sundries which used amount to more than the provisions.
    He used take a drink in every shop almost, and he used call this the Sundries. The wife used wonder what the Sundries were, and at last she thought that the list was too expensive, and she decided to do her own shopping.
