    instead. The year passed away and at last the day arrived for her lover to return home. When she saw the ship coming she had the black flag hoisted as a joke. The boy saw the black flag and he thought the girl had died. He was very sorry and in his sorrow he threw himself overboard. The lady watching everything from the top of the tower saw the boy throwing himself into the water, threw herself from the top of the tower and was drowned.
