Whatever you do on New Year's Day...

Whatever you do on New Year's Day you'll be doing it the whole year.
The first person up on New Year's Day goes out and round the house three times and at the front door says "God bless all and give us a good New Year"
The third time he says it coming in and all answer him asking God to watch over them all in the New Year.
Whatever day the New Year starts on that day is unlucky throughout the Year for starting work.
