    “On November Night a girl gets a cup of cold water...”

    On November Night a girl gets a cup of cold water and takes a mouthful of it and she walks out and keeps the water in her mouth till she hears the name of some man being called. This is the man she is to marry and she need not keep the water in her mouth any longer
    They make colcannon on Nov. night and put things in it when it is being cooked - a piece of cloth a thimble and a ring. She who gets the ring will marry during the year, she who gets the thimble will marry a tailor but she who gets the coth will never marry.
