Anyone who does not comb his hair on a Friday will never get fever...

Anyone who does not comb his hair on a Friday will never get fever. The first egg a chicken lays if it is eaten shell and all cures the fever. Some people say the egg must be laid on Good Friday.

    A Child's Song
I dug a little sod with my spade,
And on the sod was a little nest,
And in the nest was a little egg,
And in the egg a little bird
And on the bird a little tail
    As long as my finger
    And that's my little story
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
