An old man who was called Calf's Basket, sat at the corner, and made all sorts of baskets which he sold at different prices.
The nearest fair is held now in Ardee, on last Wednesday of each month. Another is held in Drogheda every month, and a big horse fair is held every May and October. - On the first Friday of every month from about nine o'clock in the morning till five in the evening a fair was held near the village(continues on next page)
