  1. There was an old man and a old woman long ago, Seán Mor and his wife. They lived in a lonely hill. They were very poor and not able to pay their rent. There was a reward of £5-0s-0d for whoever would serve the process to them. This bully volunteered. He was going up the hill this day. Norrie was preparing his dinner. She told Seán that a man was coming with a bundle of papers. "Very well," said Seán, "let him on." He came in and they were at dinner. Seán invited him to dinner. He refused ; he told Seán he was in a hurry. He had a fierce dog named Bran. He also kept a gun. Seán remarked him pulling out some papers. Seán took the gun, moria [mar d'eadh] cleaning it.
