    Formerly called St. John's Castle great fairs lasting three days used be help there long ago.
    Across the road from the castle is Scornan Church.
    This church and monastery according to the ruins to be seen must have been of very considerable size.
    On the other side of the castle about a hundred yards due N.N.W. was Ballylaune
    Castle.
