- There are several Mass Paths in this district. They are called Ma\ss Paths because in the penal days when the priests wee forbidden to say Mass under pain of death, they used to say Mass in the hills or some hidden place. There is one coming from the townland of Garrymore to the Garryard road and it is going up through fields up nearly to the top of the hill. There is another coming from Crannahort to the Garryard road and it is met by the other in the middle of the hill. There is another running from the Castle Town (to) over across the hill the three of them meet in the one place in the middle of the hill.
