  1. Potatoes are grown in my garden. There is a quarter of an acre of land under the potatoes each year. My father prepares the ground. The ground is manured before it is turned up. Sometimes the potatoes are sown in ridges and sometimes in drills. My father uses a plough and sometimes a spade when making the ridges and drills. The spades are bought in a shop. The neighbours help each other. The potatoes are cut in sciolain before they are sown. My father digs the potatoes and my brother picks them.
When the potatoes are dug they are stored in a pit in the month of October.
