  1. Children go barefoot at present in the summer but not all the year round. Boots are made and repaired locally.
    There are three shoemakers in the district. One lives in Linfield, one lives in New Pallas and one lives in Tullabeg. The three shoemakers' fathers were shoemakers. The shoemaker in Linfield and the shoemaker in Tullabeg are brothers.
    The water used for washing feet is thrown out.
    Long ago people wore more boots than now because they had to walk to their work as they had no cars to ride on.
