    dress in straw suits and the wedding guests would not think any marriage took place if the "straw boys" were absent. They used sing and dance for a few hours, the leader dancing with the bride and then they used get some refreshments and some money.
    It sometimes happened that if parents didn't allow a girl to marry a certain boy he would come by night and take her away on horse back.

    The wives used sit on a pillion behind their husband at the "hauling home" after the wedding.
    It is said the bride should feed the cat the morning she would be getting married if she wants a good day. Also the bride should not return to her parents house for a month after getting married.
