    The moon as a weather guide.
    If we have full moon at twelve noon it is a sure sign of rain.
    If a ring encircles the moon rain will follow.
    If the moon looks red we may expect wind but if it is its natural colours with a clear sky we will have fair weather.
    Stars as a weather guide.
    If the stars are twinkling very much we may expect rain.
    The sun as a weather guide.
    If the sun's rays go down into a bank of clouds in the horizon, bad weather may be expected.
    Winds.
    East wind brings snow and hail.
