    Boot
    Boot was another old custom that the people practised and is practised yet in this district. When people bought a cow that was worth ten pounds and they had only seven pounds they would give a calf and this calf was called boot.

    It is generally practised by the poor class of people. When they buy anything in a shop they are given it with the promise of paying for them when they get the money.
