Abbeyfeale and was sent to the Museum. There are two kinds of turf black and brown. Black turf is best for firing and gives great heat. Brown turf burns out quickly and leaves very much ashes. People who live near the bog cut and save a big lot of turf sell it by the reek and sometimes draw it to the nearest town and sell it to the natives of the town at six shillings for a donkey-rail and eight for a horse-rail.
