  1. A good many years ago there lived in "Dangan". A very old man whose name was "Old Macanta" One day he fell suddenly ill, and a neighbour who was called "Mickleen Ruad" was asked to go to Inch for the priest.
    He rode a white saddled horse, and the priest rode another. The horse suddenly stopped when they were approaching "Dangan Churchyard".
    The did all that they could to make him go, but he would not stir.
    At last the priest said that perhaps the dead wanted a song from Mickleen who had a beautiful voice. Mickleen said "Maybe so" and with that he sang a fine song.
    When he had finished, both of them heard the cheering, and clapping of palms inside the fence.
    Then the priest said "As they liked it, so well, give them another."
    When he had finished there was double the cheering.
    When it ceased they heard the noise
