    "Tis of a gallant highwayman
    The story I would tell.
    His name was Willie Brenan
    In Ireland he did dwell;
    'Twas on the Kilworth mountains
    He "runned" his wild career,
    And many a wealthy gentleman
    Before him shook with fear.
    Brenan on the moor!
    Brenan on the moor!
    Bold and undaunted stood
    Young Brenan on the moor
    "A brace of loaded pistols
    He carried night and day;
    He never robbed the poor man
    All on the kings highway.
