  1. Murtheghta cemetery is situated about eighteen miles to the south of Mallow. It was on the opposite side of the river to which it is now.
First all good Catholics were buried there and one day the people buried a robber near the good people. No sooner had the grave been covered than the graves of the good people moved to the other side of the river and the robber's grave was left on the other side by itself. Two tomb stones fell as the cemetery was crossing the river and they are to be seen in the river to this day.
