  1. The following list of proverbs are used very often in this district;-
    The man on the fence is a good hurler.
    Better a word in court than a pound in the purse.
    Promise nothing but what you can fulfil.
    A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
    When the cat is out the mouse dances.
    As you sow you must reap.
    It is never too late to learn.
    Say little and say well.
    A covetous man is never in want.
    Vice brings shame and sorrow.
    Fair and softly go far in a day.
    Too many cooks spoil the broth.
    Diet cures more than the doctor.
    Mighty events turn on a straw.
    Enough is as good as a feast.
    Keep a thing its use will come.
    Hurt not any animal for sport.
