  1. I went to tailor Madigan's in Ballybahollow the other evening in search of folk lore. When I told him the object of my visit, he smiled, and said: "Well if it is a funny story you want me to tell you I am afraid I won't be able to oblige you, but, nevertheless here is a true account of what happened to me long ago, when I was going to Freemount School.
    You must remember that there was no school in Curraghs when I was a gorsoon, that was the reason why I had to travel nearly three miles to Freemount. Towards the close of 1872 the local curate formed the 'Conformation Class'
