    implements a tailor used at his work are a sewing machine one large scissors and smaller ones, lapboard, needles, chalk, pressing irons and a measuring tape. A great many shirts are homemade nowadays especially the shirts worn for working every day. The material used is usually flannelette because flax is not grown in this district nowadays. All the socks and stockings are knitted at home. There are no spinning wheels in this district nowadays.
    Black clothes are worn on certain occasions for instance in mourning for the death of a relative or for anybody in the house or on the death of a neighbour.

  2. The Old Graveyards

    There are two churchyards in the parish of Dromtariffe, both in same townland of Coolclough. One is the protestant and the other is the catholic graveyard commonly known as "Keels" in this parish. One is in "Fairyhill" one in "Kilcolman" another in "Derrygallon" and a fourth in "Dromina".
