    But he always answered proudly :-

    On the seventh day of January,
    His final trial came on,
    Surrounded by informers,
    All worse than Corrodan.
    The jury found him guilty,
    The judge made this reply :-
    "For the murder of James Donovan,
    John Twiss you are to die.
    5th
    It was then the mocking judge O'Byrne,
    Put on the cursed black cap,
    Saying :- "on the ninth of February 95 you will die beneath the trap",
    He stood erect, smiled proudly round,
    And answered back :- "My Lord,
    I am willing for to die,
    For I expect a just reward".
