  1. In former times the children did not wear shoes or boots until they were about sixteen or eighteen years. Some number of years before the famine the people never wore shoes or boots. The children now do not wear any shoe or boot in the Summer time. They are barefoot from March until September.
    It is not right to throw away the water after washing the feet at night or to sprinkle the ashes with it.
