  1. The old people had many cures for the whooping cough such as to drink a ferrits leavings. They used to carry a saucer of milk to a ferrit and let him drink it. Then what he would leave after him would be given to the sick person to drink. Another cure was to drink donkey's milk. In olden times if a person had a cold he would boil milk, and put a piece of butter and a grain of pepper into it and then drink it. Another cure was to boil
