    Our struggles are over our boys are defeated
    Our Ireland surrounded in sadness and gloom
    We were betrayed and shamefully treated
    And I Robert Emmet am waiting my doom
    Bold Robert Emmet the darling of Ireland
    Bold Robert Emmet shall die with a smile
    And I boast of my actions it's only my duty
    For I laid down my life for the Emerald Isle
    The barque at anchor waiting to bear me
    Over the billows to the land of the free
