  1. There are several days in the year which people look on as being lucky or unlucky. They believe that certain work should be left undone, and other work should be done on certain days, and before a certain time on each of those days.
It is supposed to be unlucky to visit a sick person on Monday, or to bury an animal on that day. People say that the beginning of Friday is always the end of Saturday-- if it was raining on Friday morning it would also be doing so on Saturday evening.
If the first day of the month of March is fine it is said that it will be fine on the last day -- the Judgement Day, as they believe in the old saying "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb."
People believe that it is extremely unlucky to sell and buy on Sunday. They say that whatever is bought on Sunday will kill the person that bought it.
It is said that if a person put eggs under a hatching hen on Thursday, or whatever day their market-day is they would get a good price for the chickens.
