  1. There is a townland not far from Derinacahara called Coolkelure and the place is very lonely around there and it is said that long ago a highway robber used to be seen there, and he had a great habit of attacking women; One day an English soldier dressed himself in women's clothes and he met this robber and the robber attacked him and the soldier had a revolver under his cloak and he shot the robber and killed him and his grave is there yet and it is known as uaig an gadaí
for he was buried where he fell,
    No Christian grave got he,
And no Priest was found to bless the ground,
    Beneath that old oak tree.
A well marks the place where this robber fell.
