  1. I was told by Mr. Smyth of Croghan that every night at twelve o'clock there are lights seen round the woods, and the lakes at Croghan, in Roscommon. On the lakes little fairies go back and forward with lights in front of them. There is a fort near the place where the fairies live, and there is supposed to be gold hidden in the fort.
