- When St, Canice died it is handed down in history that the Kilkenny people came and claimed him. When in the act of taking his coffin a crowd of Upper Ossory people came to prevent them and to claim the corpse. A fight arose, and to the surprise of all, two coffins appeared on the ground. The fight stopped and each crowd took up a coffin then went to Kilkenny.

Long ago there lived a man in this parish, In the Penal times this man was hunted from place to place by soldiers. He did something against the soldiers at the time and so was hunted.
