  1. In 1798 there lived a man named Murphy in New Town Castle, he was a black-smith and he used to make pikes, for the Irish soldiers to fight the Yoemen.
    One day while he was making the pikes a band of yoes, came to his forge and asked him for whown did he make the pikes, he refused to tell them.
    Then they beat him and made him stand on nails, that went through his instep, but he still refused
