    It was then farmyard manure was spread and the potatoes were moulded or "mowled" they used say, ie. the clay was dug to loosen it in the shough (pro. shuch) between the ridges, and with a shovel this loose clay or mould was put up on the ridges covering the manure.

They could be boiled for fowl or pigs.
