    There is but one holy well in the parish of which any reliable account is preserved. It is situated in Nolans field to the north of Owning church and it is commonly known as ''Tobar-na-gCrann'' in former days many people visited this well, whose water was used for aliments or diseases, and some brought large quanities away. Pilgrimages were performed at this well long ago; and about fifty yards south of this well there is an elevation on which a church stood in former days.
