    Electric light lighting up our homes; but this certainly is different to long ago when the Irish had to depend on one candle light known as The Rush light.
    This I understand was the method adopted by them in making Rush Candles.- Rushes were procured about a fort-night previous to the Candle making. Those were left to dry in bundles in a warm place near the fire. Afterwards they were taken down, peeled and dipped in grease. Then they were left to dry again and after a short time were ready for use. The ancient custom is still prevailed in Ireland on "Little Christmas night.
