    Lone Trees.
On my uncle's farm, situated in Dernagad about two miles from Scotstown, there is a lone tree which stands over a well in a field beside the house.
Long ago the people living there ploughed the field and as they were ploughing they cut a branch, which was in their way.About two days afterwards,a sow ate the leaves and died that night. When the neighbours heard of the happening they were afraid to touch a lone tree afterwards.
