  1. Local Happenings
Overlooking a lake at Summerhill near Clones is a house. A dumb girl lived in this house in years gone by. She used to ride her horse across the lake. One day she drove her horse into the lake. The horse becoming entangled in the weeds threw the dumb girl into the water, and she was drowned. Hence it is called Dummy's Lake ever since.
