there is a wall standing in middle of it and it is supposed to be the ruins of an old monastery. They say it was built by a monk named Donovan and the Church is called after him.
Collected by Jas O'Sullivan, Anglore, Castleisland, Kerry, from memory O'Sullivans - so so (ages 78 yrs)
Mr Jeremiah Kelliher of Clownaugh, Castleisland, Co. Kerry who lived about fifty years ago dreamt three nights in succession that a pot of gold was hidden in his fort. He did not look for the gold and it has never been searched for since. The is a large hold in the middle of the fort which is supposed to lead down to underground cellars, The hold was recently closed up.
Another man in the district dreamt that treasure was hidden in a certain place and he was given instructions as to how to find it. He was told to harm nothing that crossed his path. After re-inforcing himself with a [?] doze of porter he proceeded with two friends to the spot.
