  1. On Charley Roycrofts hill in the townland of Roughan about four and half miles from Riverstown people say a pot of gold is hidden. It is said that an eel is minding this gold. No less and no more than two can unearth it. It is said that the eel whistles every seven years and that the two people can unearth the treasure while this fish is whistling. If the eel stops whistling before it is unearthed one of the the two people will be killed and if he does not they will both be safe.
