  1. Once when St Colmcille was travelling from Sligo to Donegal he went by way of Manorhamilton Co Leitrim.
    Not very far from Manorhamilton in the district of Glenade he went into a house to ask for a night's lodging, and his supper.
    The woman of the house was about to give him his supper, when he asked what it was. She replied that it was a cock that she had killed the previous day.
    The Saint blessed it, and while doing so a cat stood on the table.
    St Colmcille said that a cock would never crow in this townland henceforth.
    Strange cocks were often brought in to this townland, but as long as they remained there, they
