    I was born on the mountain side beneath those hills and streams.
    Now they are pictured in my mind like memories, thoughts and dreams.
    When I think of my coleen dear that I often times called mine,
    What wonder if my heart would break for the home I left behind.
    II
    As I went out through our town to bid my friends adew
    I stood on the bridge of Cloonacool those mountains for to view.
    I viewed along the green hillside where I spent many a time.
    It was then I took the last fond look to the homes I left behind.
    III
    Early then next morning with a sad and broken heart
    I stood upon my fathers floor saying we very soon must part.
    My mothers arms around my neck her eyes
