These are some of of the cures the old people told me. It is a custom in this place when the seventh son or daughter is born to put a live worm in its hand before it gets food. If the worm dies in its hand it is said it has the cure of the ringworm. When the child is making the cure of the ringworm he has to make the sign of the cross on the sore with his hand, and also make the shape of a ring around the sore three times. He performs this for three days, and if it is not cured after the third day he makes the cure nine days. The days, the cure is made, are two Mondays and one Thursday, or one Monday and two Thursdays
