Every two of them you make you have to reverse the wheel and let the two threads in together and that makes good wool.
Then you roll it off again. There is a reel attached to the spinning-wheel and you can makes ounces or or cuts as you like. When you have an ounce on your reel it lets a crack.
You take your wool then and wash it well in plenty of hot water and soap and put it out to bleech. Some of the portion of the wool is used for socks and the rest is sent to the weavers to make blankets and other woollen materials.
There are still about twelve spinning-wheels in this parish, but only two or three of them are used now. One of the three spinning wheels is owned by Mrs. John O Reilly, St, Bridget St., Ballinamore.
    She still uses her wheel.
