The old forge he soon stocked
    With whiskey, wine, and beer,
Not thinking that the Leitrim boys
    Would be there to interfere.
    Now everything was ready
    For a celebration grand,
When the Leitrim boys came marching
From all points in the land.
    There were volunteers from Ballinamore,
    Curragnawall, and Kiltyhugh,
    Drumshambo, and Drumreilly,
    Aughavas, and Cavan too.
    From Altachullion to Aughacashel,
    Aughawillan, Drumlay, Meenahill,
    Mohill, Dromod, Garadice,
    Corraleehan and Cloverhill.
