    There was land in Drumcroman and the man to whom it belonged (to) refused to pay the heavy rent that was on it.

    the road again Phil Meehan was beside him. The landlord fired a shot up into the air to see would Phil go back but he did not go back.
    The landlord shouted at Phil if he came any nearer to him he would shoot him. Phil paid no heed to him, but went up to him and the landlord shot him.
    When the men that turned back heard the shot they listened for a while. Then they heard Phil moaning. They ran to see him.
    When they got as far as Phil the landlord was gone and Phil was laying along the road dying. They went for the priest to Ballinamore. The Ballinamore priest was not at home, so they had to go to Aughanasheelin for a priest.
